This is the new site of Random Musings which wont be updated after 2nd April 2012.
I initially set up that site several years ago as a way of keeping track of articles that I wrote for various publications, but didn’t really tell anyone that it was there. In September 2011, partly in response to a friend encouraging me to write for a multi-author feminist blog she was setting up, and starting to write quite regularly for Bella Caledonia, I found myself producing more and more random musings. After the call on the blog to De-occupy Glasgow went viral, I found myself writing even more.
At the end of March, I leave my secure full time waged employment for the scary world of consultancy and living off my wits. Consequently I decided to look at blog hosting and enabling advertising on the blog, as a means of bringing in some money (however little) for something that I really enjoy doing.
Sorry if the ads piss you off, but needs must when the devil calls. I should point out to you that under the terms and conditions of displaying adverts I must encourage you only to click on them out of genuine interest, rather than because you would rather not see me starving to death in a freezing garret, rationing little nibbles of the last baked bean.
In case you are wondering where the title comes from, its the second line of England by Carter USM. I really had to think up something better than the most unimaginative blog title ever for the new site!
